I ended up in Illinois amid corn and soybeans, minus the chicken houses. I love rolling hills and mountains and yet still live in flatlands. We have a vacation house about ninety minutes north of you in Burnsville, where we will hopefully retire someday. North Carolina is a beautiful state, but I think Colorado wins the scenery competition! Wishing you many more bluebirds!Melhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10114884092474969555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6916416825093476865.post-19840044851625405342013-01-19T15:11:27.627-05:002013-01-19T15:11:27.627-05:00I thought Georgia was a kangaroo.

But since that can't be (I'm stuck here in the cold with my low-thyroid sluggish slug of a dog and a grocery store check-out clerk who always tells me what she is going to make for dinner that night), I will live vicariously through you and your wonderful words, all strung together in the most delightful way. Their use seemed sincere to me about 50% of the time.

Matthew, exactly.

Thank you Sheila!

Mel, I've met a lot of great people but the grocery store employees loathe me. Where are you from? Where are you now? It is gorgeous here.

One more thing, Elizabeth. My girls already hate Clemson--they see the bumper stickers everywhere and have an aversion.Vesuvius At Homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02783271096885148080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6916416825093476865.post-56957889290700758212013-01-17T17:10:10.770-05:002013-01-17T17:10:10.770-05:00Bless your heart. You have moved to the only rain ...Bless your heart. You have moved to the only rain forest on the eastern seaboard. And you do not possess the proper accent to prevent those duplicitous stares. We travel to North Calack a lot and I will never feel connected to the people, just the mountain ranges in sunset, the lush greenery under the forests, the abundance of wild and lovely things that survive there.
Bless your heart, too, because I have never felt like I belonged anywhere I ever lived. Ever. I guess I'm just a rambling girl.
But I know well the meltdowns at the grocery store, which is somehow just all wrong. If I didn't have a Trader Joe's here to help me through, who knows....
Thank goodness you have those boots, they will continue to come in handy in the rainy spells.Melhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10114884092474969555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6916416825093476865.post-33214145446488707772013-01-17T12:41:47.668-05:002013-01-17T12:41:47.668-05:00Gorgeous writing.
